The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, established in 1988, has some of the last undeveloped land masses on the peninsula. Since its founding, the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy has been able to preserve over 1600 acres of open land. The land conservancy doesn't only save land from being developed, but they also try to educate citizens of Palos Verdes about the nature of the conserved areas, as there are always school field trips and other educational opportunities offered to the public. There are also many hikes and nature walks that people can take at the Palos Verdes Land Conservancy to enjoy the nature on the peninsula. Homes are within walking distance to these beautiful preserves.
